You will need to get a URL Rewriter (a provider). I believe http://www.ifinity.com.au/ makes the best one available today.

Chris, shame on you. You're a Dotnetnuke employee and you're not aware of the "humanfriendly" setting in Dotnetnuke so it shows human friendly url's without the tabid stuff?

Lakmal, what version of DNN are you using? DNN 5x implemented human friendly url's. Not sure if it's automatic on upgrade or not. Also, not sure if the human url's will work on a localhost development server or not yet. Basically, search the web.config file for "searchfriendly" and change it to "humanfriendly" in DNN5x only. Earlier versions like 4x do not have this capability. Also, some pages will still have the tabid in the url when in edit mode and I think some of the admin pages will also still have the tabid structure. Test the DNN stuff to see if it will do what you need before spending money on a third-party module. But, yes, Ifinity is THE best third-party module for url rewriting.

Humanfriendly URL are available in DNN 4.9.5 as well, but for ML sites or pages with parameter used, it will still include tabid.

Hehe, fair enough Rick. The human friendly stuff in the core one is good but it doesn't handle all page views (as you noted in your response). In general, any module that has multiple views and uses ctl in the url (even without edit mode, this forum uses it for searching as an example) will have that same issue (where tabid is in the URL). Also, for the record, the human friendly option doesn't turn itself on in an upgrade scenario (If the user was using a version previously that didn't have it).
