dnn version : 5.5.1
.net framework 3.5 
sql server 2005 in virtual machine. 
iis7
windows 7

hardware:
CPU:I5 460M
RAM:4GB DDR 1333

site: www.dnn551.tst 

only open home page, i need to wait more than 5-10 sec.
there is nothing on home page, it's empty page .

any ideas will be appreciated.

it's not the first time to open home page
and sometiomes, the site www.dnn551.tst  cannot be opened. 

is there problem with my local IIS?

you are facing default behaviour of IIS, which unloads web sites, after 20 minutes of inactivity. you may alter it by modifying app pool configuration or use a 3rd party tracking solution calling the home page every 15 minutes (e.g. www.host-tracker.com or mon.itor.us)

Hello

sorry ,maybe you misunderstanding my words. 

if i open home page by first time, yes, it will speed much time for first load. 
but after first time , it should be opened fast. 

my problem is : even you opened many times home page. it  is still too slow.

Well, it's not the big, technical answer that you probably want to hear, but --

I was having what I thought were the same problems and getting rid of AVG security did it for me. I went with MS Essentials and it works as expected.

I know it's probably anecdotal, but that's the problem i was having and that's what worked for *me*...
