On our Web site, sometimes question marks appear in areas where text was entered. It's an interesting phenomenon, because I'll kill out all the question marks -- generally on the home side following returns:

blah blah blah
?
blah blah blah

When I kill out these question marks, they'll be gone for a while, but they'll reappear in the same places. What can I do to keep them gone?

are the question marks replacing other text (even carriage returns) or simply added? There was an issue a few versions back where the html editor was not supporting the necessary encoding - what version are you running?

According to one of the administrators, it is version 5.2.

The question marks are essentially carriage returns. I clear them out by deleting them, and that does the trick, however they will show up again.

I double checked and that was the version that the unicode bug was introduced as part of the caching updates- it manifests primarily in the html module as thats the only module that uses cache by default. If you upgrade to a later version the bug will go away.
