Hi all,

I'm new to the world of asp .net and dotnet nuke.  I'm working on a project that will use Report Server for SQL server.  I will be developing in VS.NET 2005.  I need to create a system that I can allow users to view reports and also do some data entry.  I think it'd be good to use DNN because alot of framework type programming would be taken care of (like an authentication system etc.)  Does DNN serve up non-static pages?  Like does it do more than allow you to upload static HTML?  Can you write dynamic pages and upload them and have DNN serve them up?  Can you tell me if DNN allows you to create custom programed pages so I can create pages for data entry, I want to create an interface for data that will go into a non DNN database?  Also, I know that vs.net 2005 allows you to embed reports from reports server.  Has anyone messed with that?  Any thoughts on how I could get that going?  I would appreciate it if anyone could provide suggestions or where I can find documentation for the specific tasks I appoligize for my ignorance.

you can do nearly everything in your modules - it is up to you, how you create them - the advantage of DNN is having an existing framework with most of the general needed administration functions and many existing modules. Have a look at www.snowcovered.com, to get an overview about module possibilities.

I don't  understand.  so which module did you have in mind?  i couldn't find one that was relevant.  I did find however the User Defined Tables module but it seems pretty limited.

I need something more flexible.  Where I can specify an external database that has the data and create custom forms to interface with the database within the dotnetnuke framework.  Also, I am still unclear if I can write my own custom scripted pages and have DNN serve them up.
