Your site does not need to be on IIS7. You can run the test from an other machine.
If you have a Win7 with IIS instaled its fine.

Jan

Cheers, Jan.  I just ran the tool.  Thank you for the tip.  Very interesting stuff.  It is now crystal clear that this guy we've been dealing with is out of his element since the site has tons of markup errors that are obviously coded into the skin.  Looks like I have my work cut out for me getting everything tightened up.

But thanks to the good people of this forum, I am learning a TON of stuff.

Sounds like he got in over his head. Good SEO is more than just page ranking, it really needs to be coupled with a marketing plan. It is kind of useless to have high rankings for a particular keyword/phrase if the people doing the searching have no real interest in your product or service. the last thing you want to do is generate a lot of traffic that just eats up bandwidth but produces no results (ike sales ).

How did you find this guy?

Hey there.  I agree, he got in over his head.  I found him on Snowcovered, believe it or not.  I searched the site for "convert HTML to DNN Skin" or something like that, then that led me to a company called "DNNSOUL" where I went on their website and filled out a contact form.  The reply to that form came from this guy.I'm guessing they (the company DNNSOUL) probably subs out some of their work to consultants.

FWIW - most of the markup errors seem to be related to lazy coding mistakes on the skin.

Changing the couple of lines in the skin will remove those errors - but to be honest they are not really affecting your site's appearance as such.
