Hi all,

I have an intranet solution to develop and it requires internal messaging. There is no external internet access for staff nor an internal email server.

DNN's messaging module would be fine except you are required to know the reciepents username. There is no address book or list of contacts to choose from. There is a requirement for example to email specific roles and view sent items
 
It would also be great to get acknowledgements of read mail.

Is there any third party module that provides these options.

I've used some third party modules too, I have a live site with Ventrian Messaging module (Private Messages), works pretty well and its very easy to integrate with some other modules, also the module ships with a 'sub module' for a contact list, wish can be very handy.

You must have a subscription, I don't want to advertise too much but it think its not that expensive and you can download all the modules they have :)

Or just wait for 6.1 :P
