PLEASE HELP!!  Our website was running just fine for years....  but now it won't let me upload new pictures...  it wont let me delete pictures....  The site is Version 3.3.7

The error that I get when trying to upload a picture is ....   "An Error Has Occurred When Attempting To Save The File d:\HostingSpaces\jjbarr\paperdollsinteriors.com\wwwroot\Portals\0\1.jpg. Please Contact Your Hosting Provider To Ensure The Appropriate Security Settings Have Been Enabled On The Server."

I have always used JPEG format before, and Im not doing anything different.....  No settings were changed or anything.

The error that I get when trying to delete a picture is ...."Error Deleting File: Portal Root\\90 days.jpg
Invalid File or Directory attributes value."

It sounds like the file/folder permissions have changed on the web server. DNN requires the account that the  AppPool is running under to have Full access to the files and folders to perform file and folder operations.

Could be that your site files were moved by the hosting company and they did not reapply the correct permissions. In this case it's as simple as asking them to grant Full permission for Network Service account or whatever account the AppPool is running under on the entire website directory.

Or they changed the account that the website was running under which is usually Network Service. In this case it's the same fix, ask them to grant Full permission to the account that the AppPool is running under on your website's entire directory.

Hope this helps!

I am the only one that works on the website.  I tried contacting dotnuke but they said to contact my provider or the person that runs the site....  but I AM the guy that runs the site...  Not sure what to do still.  Is there a spot on there when I sign in as Admin to change it myself??

If you have access to the server then log-in and check the folder permissions.  Make sure the same account you used in the Application Pool for your site has full access to the folder for your entire web site.  That should fix it.

We're talking at the web server file level, not what you can see in the File Manager on DNN.

The server admin has to be able to see the physical root folder of your website and have access to change file security.

If you are using a shared hosting plan then most likely you will need to contact your web hosting company technical support to have this done.

Good luck!
