Hey folks,

We are looking to immediately hire an experienced DNN / ASP.Net development team to build two globalized DNN websites ASAP: our game studio website, and the website for our MMO which has been in stealth development for > 2 years and will be entering closed beta soon.  Both websites need to be fully globalized, but only English localization will be deployed initially.

If you can't do complex custom DNN modules in C#, or can't build complex purpose-built ASP.Net pages in C#, then this job isn't for you. This isn’t a job where you can throw some 3rd party DNN modules together and whip up a few skins and be done.  If this is the limit of your capabilities, please don’t waste either your time or mine by contacting me. ;-

The ideal candidate will have significant experience tightly integrating DNN to work with an existing external Account datastore, as well as implementing a storefront and shopping cart that uses external product database as well as external payment gateway API for card processing. A managed dll will be provided which exposes all of the necessary classes / API’s for this integration.

Both sites will use either custom-built and/or extensible DNN modules for building a secure (HTTPS) portal that is shared between the two sites. These shared secure pages need to integrate with our existing documented back-office middleware for products, user accounts, payment processing, etc. Alternatively, custom purpose-built ASP.Net pages can be developed for this functionality if building custom DNN modules is cost and/or time prohibitive. Either way, the secure portal page UI needs to build dynamically to match the referring site based on portal URL (see example below). This way the user will not feel as if they have entered a new website when they enter the shared secure portal from either site.

Here is a brief description of the scope of the work:

Website #1: Game Studio Website (example: www.ourstudio.com)

The first website is for our game development company. Approx 10-12 public pages total, including to level pages Home, Games, Jobs, Betas, News & Updates, Contact & About. We have Photoshop documents for this site to serve as initial page design.

Website #2: MMO Website (example: www.ourgame.com)

The second website is for our MMO game. Approx 12-15 public pages total, including top-level pages for Home, About, News, Blogs (producer), Media (including screenshot gallery and concept art gallery). We need design work on these pages, and have many resources from the game to serve as starting point to get ideas from. If you are unable to do this design work, we can hire that out separately, as the company site needs to be built first anyway.

Shared Secure Portal Sub-site (example: secure.ourstudio.com\home and secure.ourstudio.com\ourgame)

Both websites need to have links to shared secure portal which, for each portal, has top-level pages for Shop (storefront w/ cart and checkout), Register, Sign In \ Sign Out, and Profile (including Account and Subscription Management). These pages all need to integrate with our back office components which are written in C#. Documentation and samples of use will be provided. The developer will decide whether to build custom DNN modules (preferred) or custom ASP.Net pages. Either way, the pages of this portal need to dynamically build their UI based on the referring site so they fit the look and feel of the two sites.

It is a requirement that adding a new future product to the portal be very simple. What we are looking for is something as simple as having a designer “port” the existing images and CSS for the “home” portal to match the look and feel of new product website, and then just want to drop them on the server and change some simple IIS or DNN settings to push the new product “portal” live.

Shared Forum Sub-site (example: forums.ourstudio.com)

We also need a shared forums implementation between the two sites, and phpBB is going to be used as the forum software. We need an "authentication module" written to integrate it with our back-office middleware accounts for registration, authentication, and so forth. Our "Accounts" have usernames and nicknames. Usernames are used to sign in with, but the only the nicknames should ever show in the forums or on the website. Note that our back-office C# components also expose through COM Intertop, and therefore can be accessed via php’s DOTNET functionality, which will be necessary in order to implement the authentication module.  If your team is capable of building everything except this part of the site, we would be willing to hire that out separately as well if necessary.

Conclusion

If this sounds like something you and your team can handle and you are ready to start negotiations immediately and start the work very soon (within a week at the very latest), then please contact me for more details at: the_rhino_dude at yahoo dot com.  When contacting please send URLs of relevant work completed, as well as link to your website.

Also, given the rough information presented above, please provide an equally rough quote and rough timeline as to what you think the project will take.  Obviously any such numbers are highly preliminary, and after signing an NDA we will give you access to all of our architecture, design and API documents so that you could prepare a proper quote.

We want to have this work done ASAP. Pay is commensurate with the experience necessary to do this work.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance for all those who apply / reply.

Regards,
Ryan Rogers
