My hosting provider has a paid version AND he donates the resources for non-profit customers.

Regarding all my lost data, the data disappeared after an upgrade, but wasn't discovered until enough time had passed that simply restoring the database would screw others, and I could not get anyone to respond with information about where I might find the data in the SQL data that I had saved.  After15 months, the backups are long gone and the issues are moot.  Regarding the site logging, DNN simply refuses to record info in the database.  In this instance, I did get a few responses where I confirmed all my settings were correct, but once those were confirmed yet the logging still didn't work, I didn't get any further help - the responder seemed to lose interest and had no suggestions.

Sounds like a frustrating round of events that could have been handled better when that happened.

I wish you the best of luck with joomla.

Seems like a Hosting Provider problem and not DNN. Sorry. There are a lot of good or excellent hosters for DNN, apparently you were unlucky chosing that provider.

I can't blame my hosting provided because he didn't know where in the SQLtables my data might be hidden.  If I had gotten any response at all as to which tables to examine, I'd have been thrilled - the data may even still be there.  I found that for my repository data, the files were still in a folder, but that DNN had lost it's knowledge of them, so I was at least able to save the files themselves.

Those things DO NOT JUST HAPPEN to DNN.

And in case something goes wrong, ALL serious providers have a 7 days BACKUP that you can restore or use. No WAY you can't lose data or files.
