it appears to be a breaking binary compatibility issue - we maintain API backwards compatibility as a rule so this appears to be an oversight (a few obsoleted functions were not brought over to 6.0) . I've logged this at http://support.dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?p=2&i=17635 and scheduled it for 6.0.2

Cool. I am looking forward to the new version. I want to let you know that I got some error message when I installed the blog module version 4.01.01 from 4.0.0 on Dotnetnuke 6.0.0

Install Package:: DNN_Blog

Info:: Starting Installation

Info:: Starting Installation - DotNetNuke.Blog

Info:: Starting Installation - Script

Info:: Begin Sql execution

Info:: Created - 04.01.00.SqlDataProvider

Info:: Executing 04.01.00.SqlDataProvider

Info:: Start Sql execution: 04.01.00.SqlDataProvider file

Info:: SQL Execution resulted in following Exceptions: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: The object 'DF_Blog_Blogs_EnableTwitterIntegration' is dependent on column 'EnableTwitterIntegration'. ALTER TABLE DROP COLUMN EnableTwitterIntegration failed because one or more objects access this column. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection. (SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection. (SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteADOScript(String SQL) at DotNetNuke.Data.SqlDataProvider.ExecuteScript(String Script, Boolean UseTransactions) ALTER TABLE dbo.Blog_Blogs DROP COLUMN [EnableTwitterIntegration]

The installation did finish after. The blog seems to function except now I don't see twitter integration in blog settings.

just to be clear the issue is a core issue so will be resolved in 6.0.2 -for now just remove the recent entries control. As for our seond issue i recall the blog team mentioning they were going to remove twitter integration (and add full support for multiple source syndication in a later relase). You can raise this as an issue at http://dnnblog.codeplex.com/workitem/list/basic so hopefully it can be resolved.
