Am I just misunderstanding something? I go to individual project modules to download the Install/Source zip file expecting to see source but I don't find any. I see the user controls but the code-behind files are not there. Where do I get the source?

Thanks in advance,

allan

Thanks for the reply but I still don't see the source for certain modules. For example the XML module contains a user control EditXml.ascx which references the Code Behind EditXml.ascx.vb which I dont see. I have now checked the source zips for DNN 4.02, DNN 4.03, DNN 3.22, and the specific XML module project. The XML module is just an example. There are other modules which don't seem to contain the code behind source either; however, there is code behind source in the DNN source zip for some controls. Take for example Address.ascx and Address.ascx.vb.

Just curious. I am fairly new to DNN and I wanted to look at how the core team approached certain tasks within development of the modules.

Thanks,

Allan

I do not know if this is the case you are talking about, but some times the code of cirtain modules come in a .resources file, so look for this file, rename it to .zip, then uncompress it and you get the code behind pages.

Hope this helps.

Install the source module just like you did the non-source module and the source code will be unzipped in the correct locations in each desktop module.  If you want to install the source for mulitple modules then copy the source package(s) to the /install/module directory.  You then access the site using the following URL: {Your dnn domain}/iinstall/install.aspx?mode=InstallResources. This will install all the modules found in teh install/module directory.

If you only want to install the source for 1 module you can do that through the host / module definition screen.
