I was looking at the ContentList.ascx file this morning and came across a few things, wanted to run it by one or more core/project members.

I went in to modify this file in order to get the SearchResults and ContentList (What the RadTag control uses to render returned items) to be fairly equal in terms of styling.

I found that:

  1. the stored proc "GetContentItemsByTerm" does not return a "Description" field, although it is referenced in the ascx. In the code behind, both "Title" and "Description" are being filled with the same value which is "item.Content", causing it to be displayed twice.
  2. the ascx bases visibility of the description field on the "ShowDescription()" method, which must be hard coded to "true" because the content list has no settings like the search control does for "Show Description".

I would like the actual description of any content or pages to come back in the results.

Any ideas?

Also, where else is the ContentList control used out of the box?

Ed, what happened to 1), if you modify SProc and return description?

Looked into that, problem is that there is not "one" table for content that stores description other than the "Search" table that I am aware of.
