Running DNN v4.9.5.

I have a soccer club site and each team has its own page and update acces to this is controlled by roles.

I want to create a custom profile field in the user registration page so that a new user can select which team they belong to and once selected the user will automatically be assigned the necessary role.

To make things easier the role names match the team names.

Do I need to do some custom development to do this or can this be done out of the box?

Do I need to upgrade to a newer version of DNN in order to do this?

Blue & White hooped blood runs through my veins!

You can do this with Data Springs' Dynamic Registration module.
