I am extremely new to dotnetnuke, as well as vbscripting, I'm a php developer, trying to get into vbscript.

I have a vbscript function (already written) as well as the script that rely's on the function. How do I input this code into the default page of DNN? do i need to create a custom module to execute this code?
All the code does is connect to AD and figure out where a user's password expires. it then will display a box when their password is close to expiring. Any idea's on where i need to look to get started in this?

DNN is written in VB.net - vbscript is a different animal altogether.

Depending on the environment you are working in you would have a couple of options:

  • If this is a client side function for a simple intranet deployment you can just add the vbscript to the default.aspx page.
  • For server side functionality you will need to implement your functionality in a .net language as a dnn module. There are a number of guides for this. Here's a good one: Super fast and Super Easy DNN Module development
