Hey everybody, I am trying to add some new functionality near the login/logout buttons on an existing DNN site. I want to hook an a link to our message system, and display notifications based on database queries directly into the skin/container.

                    <div class="user-login">
                        <dnn:USER runat="server" ID="dnnUSER" cssClass="user" Text="Register"/>
                        <span>|</span>
                        <dnn:LOGIN runat="server" ID="dnnLOGIN" cssClass="login" Text="Login" LogoffText="Logoff"/>
                       </div>

The above code generates the register and logoff button. Where exactly in the DNN scheme of functionality would I add possibly a new tag <dnn:notif or something and be able to bind that text to some results based off of a database query. I am familiar with module development but not how it relates to skins and containers and the like. It doesnt seem like module development applies here.

 Thanks.
