Hello everybody!.

If a "secure - file system" folder is created through the new dnn 4.3 file manager, and a pdf file is uploaded, there is no way to request the file by clicking the link ... it says "file not found" ... Anybody else has came accross this?

I'm very interested in protecting files by user role from url requests ... I thought that this new feature "secure - file system" would allow that. I have created a folder called "Private" under "secure - file system" with read privileges only for registerd users, but when I try to request the file by using an url, it says "file not found" ... I expected a warning saying "no enough privileges for downloading this file" or something like that, but I can't see the way to request that file through an url, being registered user or not.

Could somebody give me a hand to understand how the file manager new security features work in relation to requesting files through an url?.

Many thanks.
David

David,

  • there is an issue with url control that will be solved in next version
  • files in secure storage will only be displayed, if the module you use supports the new folder types.
