Please find my feedbacks after using DNN 7 for the first time. These may be bugs or ideas about some new features. Hope this will be of interest to you.

  • The definition of the skinobject meta has disappeared but the code is still there. To define a viewport if we create an html responsive skin, it may be usefull to keep the definition.
  • I know it’s a .0 version but it seems there is no additional language packs like in the 6.x version. Please confirm.
  • I had a problem with the dll Newtonsoft.Json used by the new host menu. When I installed DNNArticles which I already used before, it replaced the dll with an older one making it impossible to use the menu again to add modules on pages. Is there a way to protect the dll ? (I thought assembly version was managed by the specific sql table but it seems the dll can be easily replaced).
  • I like the new host panel, it’s very convenient. Yet it’s not easy to scroll to the right when I need to add a module, especially when in Edit mode where the panels are displayed with borders.
  • For the module admin, the return of actions buttons instead of the manage panel is interesting. Is there a way to still use the manage button (v6 like)? During my tests, the action buttons were not always correctly positionned and I had to hover the Edit Page button to have them get back to the right position. Have you too noticed this weird behavior?
  • When I am in Edit Mode (Edit Page now), everything is disabled except the module I hover (it’s a nice way to isolate the content). But if I need to scroll (to the right for example), the focused is lost. When I tried to click a link in the module, it scrolled me back to the left and I couldn’t do anything. Is there a way to correct this or go round the disabled effect?
  • My last point is about the minifier. The host settings are well saved but not applied (ie: Content Version or minify css). I had to edit the web.config to increment the version or activate the css minification.

There should be a 7.0 forum.

There are very nice technical UI improvements. At the same time, when you go overboard it becomes too 'fancy'. You lose usability.

As mentioned above, the scrolling of modules is not usable. It should be a simple dropdown. You are not buying anything, you simply want to pick a module which you only need name.

Please remember too much UI means too much time to do a simple task.

I agree with you. With all these changes and potentials feedbacks, a dnn7 forum is a good idea.
