Hi lebabach

There are two ways to work on a code file of a module.
1. Directly open website(Dnn website) through your visual studio, go to DesktopModules folder and start working on your code file, here if you hit (ctrl+s) you are not required to build the site. All the changes automatically gets incorporated into your site

2. In this case, In visual studio we can click open project, by this we can directly open Module which is inside the DesktopModules folder. without opening the whole site.
But here we need to build the module, to set the changes in the modules dll.

thanks

Cheers..!!!

DotNetNuke itself is a WSP (website project) so the Code behind isn't compiled into a DLL, it gets built at runtime when the website loads.

You really shouldn't (you can) be modifying the code behind for DotNetNuke. While technically you can do this, it isn't recommended as you will make it very hard on yourself when it comes time to upgrade DotNetNuke in the future as your changes run the risk of being lost.
