I guess it's a good thing that you can reproduce it.

I've not used that template. I have used an older version of Chris' templates successfully. My current environment is based on Steve Fabian's template.

I am still surprised that any of this stuff can completely destroy the site.

You could try Steve's template - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/B...

When you say the site "is gone". What EXACTLY do you see?

Best wishes,

Does it write anything in the EventLog table? Take care when you look - you have to do a query and order by the date descending to get any sense.

It may write a few rows.

In 10 years of development with dnn I dont think Ive ever seen a simple module do damage to the dnn core.

I would strongly suggest you relook at your development environment - as it feels like there are some fundamental setup issues that maybe need to be resolved.

Firstly, there is really no need to ever compile the dnn core for basic module development - we regularly develop modules using just a release install.

Secondly, it may be worth having a fresh read of the setup guides in the wiki:

Sorry Wes,
I don't understand what you want me to tell.

1.) I don't compile the DNN core. Or does the core automatically compile when I compile my module??
2.) I installed and set up erverything exaclty as described in videos or tutorials. I also posted exactly how my environment looks like in this thread.

Cheers,
Stefan
