Hello guys,

I do not understand the purpose of having two times firstname and lastname in DNN 4.3 (one time they are in Users table and a second time in UserProfile table). Anybody who could explain?

Regards,
Fabian

Probably to retain compatibelity with old modules that do a JOIN on the Users Table

Hello purplebox,

thanks for your comment. In fact, if it is so, the best would be to cancel the Firstname and Lastname in the "User Credentials" and update these fields in the users table from the userprofile table when the user updates his userprofile. Otherwise it is confusing for the user.

Regards,
Fabian

I noticed whimlst writing a custom profiel edirot, that indeed the first and lastname fields are not linked

I'll just keep using the profile fields and ignore the *old* fields
