Hello all,

My non-profit organization is moving to DNN from a regular asp website.  I am wondering what your thoughts are on hosting.  We currently use GoDaddy and I have heard that it isn't the best DNN hosting provider out there.  Also our current setup won't allow DNN so I am looking at other options.

I have looked at such sites as PowerDNN and DNN4less, but also sites like DotNetPark and IXWebSolutions.  PowerDNN is obviously quite specialized and their prices are higher, but are they worth it?  Should we go with a specialized provider over a general host provider?

Keep in mind I am very new to DNN.

Thank you.

You can get many benefits if you host your DotNetNuke website with a specialized provider of DNN hosting, like DNN4Less. The advantages can be efficient 24x7x support , easy backups and 25% (Non Profit Organization) Discount.

Keep in mind I am very new to DNN.
// DotNetNuke is very friendly it comes with many free features (modules), you can create your whole website within a day; Even less.

Cheers

Hi,

Of course, hosters specialized in DotNetNuke hosting provide additional services and appropriate tools to manage your web site or your own web server. So, it will always be beneficial to go with them.

Thanks,

They don't seem worth it until you need their help.

My suggestion would be to use a specialized DNN host. I use dnn4less for a friend and I have to say I'm fairly happy.

Powerdnn is the other host I would recommend based on what I've read on the forums although I haven't used them personally.

As far as godaddy for DNN hosting, I don't recommend them. We see a lot of posts about their support and it tells me what I need to know about their ability to support DNN.

Hey Dave,
Thanks for posting! When you're working with a non-DNN-specific hosting provider, when you need help or assistance, the common response that you'll hear back is "hey, we didn't make the software - why are you asking us? Go post on the DotNetNuke forums and figure it out yourself."

At PowerDNN, we specialize in taking care of people and their websites. This is why we have an english-speaking, USA-based team of DotNetNuke experts in our office 24/7. With us, you're not buying hosting - you're paying for a complete team of experts to be at your beck-and-call any time you want. Want to know what it is like? Call us at 1.877.743.8366 and see how long it takes for an engineer to answer your call.

Our commitment to service is why our customers choose us over and over again. We host more DotNetNuke websites than any other company and that has made us the 4th largest Windows hosting provider in the world.
