are you able to display any page of your website or has file default.aspx been deleted (you may easily restore by downloading, unblocking and unzipping DNN upgrade package from dotnetnuke.codeplex.com)

in this case, unzip all files of upgrade package, browse to your site and perform the upgrade to latest version.
You may alternatively check highest version number in /provider/dataprovider/sqldataprovider/ folder and download associated upgrade package from download page of dotnetnuke.codeplex.com (Select version on the right)

I can not because the site is not mine. I am spirit to pass an internship with a company and I can't modify the configuration files. I must know the version to download the correct file. The problem is that I no longer have access to the configuration pages of the site. Is there a file that contains the version number
