Hi there,

Currently I use a normal windows hosting plan from a "non DNN professional provider" to host my Dnn website and I am intending to integrate  NB-store module to the website so that I can sell some stuffs on site. 

My question is that "do I need to upgrade the current hosting plan to a special hosting plan so that I can have my website e-commerce enable?"  

I am confused because when I look at some professional DNN hosting provider, they normally separate/dedicate hosting plan for  e-commerce DNN sites. So what is the difference between normal hosting plan for catalogue sites and the dedicated hosting plan for ecommerce sites?

Any one can suggest?

Shared Hosting shared a Server with other users and applications, this can be critical if you have many visitors on your site.  Of cource you can start a e-commerce site also on shared Hosting, but be sure you have Access to SQL Server backup and your files, so it could be possible to Change to a other plan.

There are also some security aspects, about a Hosting plan can also be compromissed from outsite your application if any other application on an other Hosting plan have an security issue.  This is also a point to use a dedicated Server for ecommerce applications.

Thanks Matthias for your response. I would keep my current hosting plan for the site and integrate e-commerce functions into it then see how far the business can go later on. If it goes well I will change to the dedicated server plan.
