We have some pdf docs that are opened in the popup module of dnn community.  When we open them in IE they work fine but in FF or Chrome the  progress meter won't go away. You can see a small sliver of the pdf doc at the bottom of the popup and even scroll it but you can't read the doc because of the progress meter. The link to the site is http://colinadeluz.org and you can try one of the links on the right on the home page. The dnn version is 06.02.03 (141).

Any help would be much appreciated.

I cannot recreate this (chrome 30, firefox 25) - I can see the progress meter in IE but don't see a progress meter for either chrome or FF, however the documents load fine

That is pretty interesting that you don't even see the progress meter and we can't get rid of it in chrome and FF. We've tried this on different computers in different locations and keep getting the same results. I've personally tried on one computer with Win7 using chrome 30 and on one with Win8 using chrome 31 and FF 25. Here is a link to a screen shot of what we are getting, http://colinadeluz.org/screenshot.jpg . As you can see at the bottom of the popup there is a very small sliver of the doc showing that can be scrolled.

Question that I have, is there a way to "turn off" the progress meter so that it doesn't show at all?

I think I know what the difference is - the progress bar does not come from DNN, but rather from the pdf viewer associated with the pdf extension in the browser. In my case I use FoxIT Reader, as Adobe acrobat has constant security issues, so I think your issue is with Adobe here.

I tried FoxIT reader and the same thing is happening. I set file association and even disabled Adobe reader in FF. Progress indicator is still in the way. Here is a link to a screen shot. I expanded the popup so you can see that FoxIT is running and the doc is loaded, http://colinadeluz.org/screenshot2.jpg .
