I apologize if this problem is unique to me or if this is the wrong place for this. I had problems posting a question to the modules forum here.

At first I was using Chrome but it had a long-running script that took up about two of four processors. It would not get past that.

Then I tried IE and it provided me the opportunity to stop the long-running script but it was unable to post the question.

I then prepared to use Opera, Safari and then Maxthon. Opera worked. That is what I am using now.

I do not know if the virus that has infected IE has gotten to Chrome but if not then there might be a problem with the web site making it difficult for people to post.

This sounds like a problem of the rich text editor which is loading very slowly, even if you selected to use plain text box. unfortunately, I don't have a workaround. For your own site, I suggest using ckeditor.codeplex.com, which doesn't suffer from the same bad performance.

I can't use IE10 to make new posts. I have to use FF. Again, just for new posts, not adding comments to existing ones.

Mark is correct, Quick reply doesn't require loading the richtext editor.

there is a known issue with the tag's drop-down that we're working on - this slows all new posts and replies (except for quick reply), and seems to effect different browsers in different amounts. We're working on a solution for this -oddly the problem is not in forums but is actually elsewhere i.e. the community exchange has resulted in a huge increase in tags, however it only manifests in forums and wiki.
