I've read thread "We've just configured a streaming video server", it's cool. I want to ask how to configure my IIS server like a streaming server so that client can watch video without downloading whole file as Dotnetnuke streaming server. I am testing my Website on my local network. And I use Invetua-MediaPlayer module to show movie files.

Any anwser would be appreciated.

If you use windows 2003 server, its as "simple" as adding the "streaming media server" role to your server (goto "manage your server", click on "add or remove role" select "streaming media server" and click next..)

cheers,

Erik

it works in a similar way, control panel > add / remove software > add windows components... should be there somewhere (i dont have win2000 to test anymore.. so i cant tell you how to do it exactly). .a little googling found this page, maybe it is of help to you: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000pro/maintain/w2kmngd/15_2kwms.mspx

cheers,

Hi ErikVB

I added "Windows Media" component  but when I watch movie from another computer (in my LAN network) it seem to download the whole file. The waiting time is 7 minutes. It's too long. Ihave no experience to configure a streaming server before. Can you show me the detail what needs to do (ex: IIS, ... or something like that) .

Thanks again.

---Hoan
