Hi Guys,

I really hope you guys can help me out,

I have not been able to upload files on my DotNetNuke siste but from this I’ve been getting this error message every time I try to upload new document.

An Error Has Occurred When Attempting To Save The File d:\hosting\<name>\portal\Portals\0\documents\file.any. Please Contact Your Hosting Provider To Ensure The Appropriate Security Settings Have Been Enabled On The Server.

Does anyone have any idea why I might be getting the error message

Thank you

Can anyone respond to this issue?  I'm getting the same error.  I've given Full permissions to Everyone on the folder I'm trying to save to.  I've given Write permissions to the folder in IIS.  I used the /admin/files/webupload.ascx file as my example.

I'm using a current version of DNN (I'm not sure which one), and I already checked the dbo.AddFile stored procedure, and it's correct.

Here is my code:

Dim postedFile As HttpPostedFile = Me.FileUpload1.PostedFile

Dim Results as String = FileSystemUtils.UploadFile(filePath, postedFile)

Any thoughts? Are there any other admin settings I need to change in DNN to make this functionality work?

did you check file system permission for the virtual user ("Network Service" or "ASPNET" on WinXP)?

Yes, these users have Full Control on the folder I'm trying to save to in the file system:

ASPNet
Everyone
Internet Guest Account
Network Service
(That's just the list I added.  There are other users also, which are the standard users on any folder in the file system.  I went overboard in giving Full Control to Everyone, but I wanted to elimnate access rights as the problem.  I also gave Write permission to the folder in IIS.)

I'm trying to upload a new file (as opposed to over-writing an existing file).  The file is just a small .txt file, for test purposes.  Eventually, I'll be uploading Word files.

I'm trying to give anonymous website users the ability to upload these files, so they aren't even logged in to DNN at the time of uploading.

I was having a similar problem and found that unchecking the "read only" attribute on the folder in Windows seemed to do the trick for me.
