We're using DNN 7.2.0 and have recently started getting errors on several pages.  I added a custom module about a week before the errors started and our site worked fine, then added another one a few days after the site started erroring.  Our test site works, so far the only difference I have found between our live and test sites is our live site has .net 4.0 installed and our test site has .net 4.5.1, could this be the issue?

When trying to view Host Settings I see this error:

A critical error has occurred. Could not load type 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.ExtensionAttribute' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.

When trying to add user permissions to a page I see this error:

A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

When trying to access File Management I see this error:

Error: Digital Asset Management is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not load type 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.ExtensionAttribute' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. ---> System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'System.Runtime.CompilerServices.ExtensionAttribute' from assembly 'mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. at System.ModuleHandle.ResolveType(RuntimeModule module, Int32 typeToken, IntPtr* typeInstArgs, Int32 typeInstCount, IntPtr* methodInstArgs, Int32 methodInstCount, ObjectHandleOnStack type) at System.ModuleHandle.ResolveTypeHandleInternal(RuntimeModule module, Int32 typeToken, RuntimeTypeHandle[] typeInstantiationContext, RuntimeTypeHandle[] methodInstantiationContext) at System.ModuleHandle.ResolveTypeHandle(Int32 typeToken, RuntimeTypeHandle[] typeInstantiationContext, RuntimeTypeHandle[] methodInstantiationContext) at System.Reflection.RuntimeModule.ResolveType(Int32 metadataToken, Type[] genericTypeArguments, Type[] genericMethodArguments) at System.Reflection.CustomAttribute.FilterCustomAttributeRecord(CustomAttributeRecord caRecord, MetadataImport scope, Assembly& lastAptcaOkAssembly, RuntimeModule decoratedModule, MetadataToken decoratedToken, RuntimeType attributeFilterType, Boolean mustBeInheritable, Object[] attributes, IList derivedAttributes, RuntimeType& attributeType, IRuntimeMethodInfo& ctor, Boolean& ctorHasParameters, Boolean& isVarArg) at System.Reflection.CustomAttribute.IsCustomAttributeDefined(RuntimeModule decoratedModule, Int32 decoratedMetadataToken, RuntimeType attributeFilterType, Boolean mustBeInheritable) at System.Reflection.CustomAttribute.IsDefined(RuntimePropertyInfo property, RuntimeType caType) at System.ComponentModel.Composition.AttributedModel.AttributedPartCreationInfo.<GetExportMembers>d__4.MoveNext() at System.Linq.Enumerable.Any[TSource](IEnumerable`1 source) at System.ComponentModel.Composition.AttributedModel.AttributedPartCreationInfo.HasExports() at System.ComponentModel.Composition.AttributedModel.AttributedModelDiscovery.CreatePartDefinitionIfDiscoverable(Type type, ICompositionElement origin) at System.ComponentModel.Composition.Hosting.TypeCatalog.get_PartsInternal() at DotNetNuke.ExtensionPoints.SafeDirectoryCatalog..ctor(String directory) at DotNetNuke.ExtensionPoints.ExtensionPointManager.get_MefCompositionContainer() at DotNetNuke.ExtensionPoints.ExtensionPointManager.ComposeParts(Object[] attributeParts) at DotNetNuke.Modules.DigitalAssets.View..ctor() at __ASP.FastObjectFactory_app_web_clv2fxpc.Create_ASP_desktopmodules_digitalassets_view_ascx() at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(IWebObjectFactory objectFactory, VirtualPath virtualPath, Type t, Object[] parameters) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleControlFactory.LoadModuleControl(TemplateControl containerControl, ModuleInfo moduleConfiguration) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

did you copy over code from one site to the other?
If you upgraded on .Net 4.5, it might have added different references to web.config.
If you are using a (kind of) staging environment, please make sure it is using the same underlying system.

AFAICT the ExtensionAttribute is not in mscorlib in .Net 4.0.

I'd guess it's somehow related to the version mismatch.
