I need some help figuring out my settings.  I have a working site with a child portal.  I want to create a local copy of this site on my desktop.  I've got everything setup, site copied, db, etc.

The current site is for example  www.mysite.com/abc

So, I want to be able to navigate to localhost/abc.  I created an alias for that portal for localhost/abc.  When I navigate to it I get a server error page: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

The file it's trying to access is the default.aspx file in the child portal's folder.   I'm sure I've got something setup wrong in IIS, but I'm not sure what it is.

Have you made sure you have configured the AppPool to run using .Net CLR 4.0 in Integrated pipeline mode?

Yes, it's running in 4.0 integrated mode.
I can navigate to just localhost, and it will come up with the DNN screen, and error has occurred on the site, with a blue button for "back to site", but that button just takes me to the error screen.
