My site was hit with over 100,000 spam users. I successfully removed the users but I am still getting the same error as before on site settings: "A critical error has occurred. Error during serialization or deserialization using the JSON JavaScriptSerializer. The length of the string exceeds the value set on the maxJsonLength property."

Any idea why the error is still there?

please try to get full error stacktrace from Admin > Log Viewer.

I doubt the issue is related to the spam users, there seem to be an issue with Telerik Controls.
Did you remove the user folders as well?

yes I removed the folders from \Portals\_default\Users. Are there other places I need to remove folders?
