I haven't seen this addressed in the FAQs, so if it is please let me know.

When is DNN an appropriate framework for building a new application?  I've seen a couple of references to "content management" in the forums.  Is DNN primarily used for content management sites?  What about a .NET business application, e.g. an HR system?  It seems like the database could become a serious bottleneck if a page is built dynamically from the DB, and then I have to go back to another database to get my "live" data for customers, etc.

I'd like to hear any comments, both pro and con, for using DNN for a business web application.  It's not an OLTP, but it will get some serious use, with a community of perhaps 140,000 members.

Dave
