Hi

I am working with Evotiva DNN User Files.

When adding / changing items within folders, the Folder "Last Modified Date" does not change even though the files within the folder, their "Last Modified Date" does change

Support from Evotiva sayas:

"That’s how DNN works. The folder’s date belongs to the folder, not its child items.
If you rename a folder, its ‘last updated’ date will change, but it will not change based on its child items."

Is this true?

Is there a way for the folder  "Last Modified Date" to change when items are added or edited within the folder? (like it does with Windows Explorer)

Evotiva is right - in theory, because change date of the folder should indicate, when the folder settings were adopted latest.

But, unfortunately in DNN 8, DNN Corp decided to abuse this database column to indicate last change of any of its content as well, overwriting the information on the folder itself (instead of adding a second column for maintaining an aggregated "last update" information for the subfolder structure.
