David,

it seems you are using Evoq ("Html Pro" module), and I don't know if there is another provider available for this - I would suggest trying the CK Editor provider (https://github.com/DNN-Connect/CKEdit...), but you should contact the support if this is possible with your version.

Anyone have any ideas?
From my perspective at the moment, the module randomly modifies the html I give it.   There has got to be a way to say "just use the html you were given, as is.".

my idea was that the provider is doing that - therefore I suggested to try another one.

Another way to do it would be to leave the text body empty (or just enter a  ) and put the HTML code in the module header or footer (in Module Settings) - but this is a bit "dirty".

I agree with Michael - make sure to use latest version of DNN/Evoq and CKEditor provider for DNN (should be available after the upgrade).
