Hi. One of friendly url management feature is causing me an issue. For example, suppose I have a valid URL like /foo/bar. If I try to connect to /foo/bar/fail, I don't get a 404. DNN is loading page /foo/bar with fail as querystring. Is it possible to disable that behavior and get a 404 error if the exact URL is not found ? Thanks in advance for your help.

Jaco,

the problem is: that could be a querysring parameter used by any of the modules placed on the page. IIS and DNN do not (and cannot) know about this, therefore it is handled as such.

There was a session at DNN Connect in Ireland this year that mentioned this behaviour. Sorry, I cannot remember if they provided a solution, but I don't think so. The session was this: https://www.dnn-connect.org/events/20... - it is not yet published on the Youtube chanel, but you should be able to find it here at some stage: https://www.youtube.com/results?searc...

Happy DNNing!

Hi. Thanks for feedback. I can understand that it could be necessary for some modules. The best solution for my use case would be to have an option to disable this automatic conversion for each domain and have a setting on page level to accept query paramters. The page level setting should be available to modules so they can declare their requirements. It would be like having the regex exception at level page. That way, when you update an old web site using almost same URLs, you dont have Google finding a lot of duplicates because it is redirected to same content from different URLs. Maybe in a future version.
