Hello HY,

I think that I am having the same problem, I am also having problems with my forum again, and I think this has something to do with this issue.

My guess is that you, just as I did install the compression utility.
I made a backup of the original web.config so I could not be having any problems at all.
But.... after I put my original web.config file back to where it belongs, it doesn't unload the compression module somehow.
Well atleast that's what I think is the problem, so I would like to hear from you, whether or not you installed this compression module, so I would know whether or not I am right with this one and can ask further, when I don't find the solution on my own first inside the appropiate forum.

Thanks and somehow hope that we are having the same problem, so we can find a better solution, so please let me know if you installed this module.

Greetz,

Jannick

Hi,

I think there was an error by installing, about your security settings.  Be sure you have give write rights to the ISS_WPG and the network service.  Then check the virtual folder settings of the IIS and give read permission, Log visits, index this resource to local folder, and by application settings the execute permissen must be Scripts and Executables.  (See Documentation)

Are all settings all write und you have do an upgrade on an existing dnn 4.x then it can be help to setting the dbowner in the web.comfig to "" and not not "dbowner name or dbo" !

I hope that it.

Regards

Matthias

I uploaded upgrade dnn version and then asked the host people to unzip files over my existing application. When I did the same unzipping upgrade files on my local, it works.

Well it looks like you're having another problem than I have, I thought myself that I had found the bug for our problem, but I was wrong about that.
I did a new installation of the latest DNN version directly inside my godaddy root folder, and this is working fine again, except that I am having problems with SQL server, but the helpdesk at godaddy is looking in to this issue at the time I write this message, but I am completely aware that is a different issue after all.
Anyway, I don't think that your host caused this problem, as I understood allready that you mean the hosting provider with this instead of the user host inside DNN.
Anyway, too bad that I am not having this problem anymore, as I'm on to the next problem., but I believe that this problem has nothing to do with DNN in particular instead it has anything to do with the SQL server at my hosting provider.
I hope that your problem gets solved and maybe the response that Matthias gave helps you solve this problem.
