Does anyone know if the basic Catalook store allows PayPal IPN Notifications - so after a sale I can add a user to a role on their return?

Unfortunately the core store does not currently allow this. Any other stores do this?

Catalook not only does this, but it will do subscriptions to PayPal also.

Thanks for that - I am so confused as to which is better - Catalook, PortalStores or other...

I really don't need a powerful solution (not sure I need a store at all) - I only have 10 - 20 very static products (my modules) - and currently am using the core roles...

I'll have to site down and do some comparisons sometime ;)

My advice. Just go with Catalook.

It's not that expensive, constantly updated, and gives you plenty of room to grow even if you don't need all the features.

All the options may seem a little daunting at first, but it shouldn't take more then a day to get comfortable with it.

Thanks for the info John - 2 more questions when you have a mo:

I don't like the look of the Catalook website - I also would prefer to change the look and feel of "Buy Now", "Cart" etc. on my site - there seems to be some concept of skinning but info is so hard to find! Is it easy to skin Catalook?

And the other main question - I noticed Portal Store had the concept of Affiliates and this is something I want to introduce on Smart-Thinker.com  (actually - I've just noticed you have an affiliate program on your site - cool!). Can Catalook handle Affiliate referrals? ie. someone views Smart-Thinker with the Affiliates unique code and if they make a purchase it gets recorded against that Affiliate (or is this more site level technology?).
