LOL yes I believe y ou're right, they both do all of those things!

I understand your predicament, because I was in the same boat for quite awhile last year.  The one I started using first, when I first got into DNN over two years ago, was Portal Store.  I started using cataLook too just a few months later.  For the first six months or so, Portal Store was my preferred choice.  But then PS started to fall apart.  My preference switched to cataLook at that time.  Then DNN Modules bought Portal Store, or maybe they didn't buy it I don't know the details but somehow or another it changed hands over to DNN Modules and it started to improve.  It took another good while of using both before eventually, late last year, Portal Store again became my preferred choice.  I feel DNN Modules got a bad rap for awhile because they inherited a lot of problems when they first picked up Portal Store, and it took them awhile to resolve all of that.  But they resolved it all awhile back and have just been adding one great innovation after another since then.

If I recall, Rodney, you sell your modules on Snowcovered so the fact that PS has the Snowcovered ION connector built into it might be the factor which tips the scales for you, since you want as much of the administration as possible to be automated.  In all fairness, it's been several months since I looked at cataLook so maybe it has that capability now, too.  Probably you could use either product, and I don't envy the decision you have to make, as I used to be stuck there for quite awhile myself!  Last year I was largley in a "wait and see" mode, observing what they both did and the strides they made over the course of the year, and then I made up my mind.

Thanks for the indepth answer Shane - I appreciate it.

Ok - I'm going to have to dedicate some time in the future and look at them both in more detail and pull out the key points.

I will be going over all the links you gave and the ones from Nina, John and the others and having a look at what is possible...  I'll report back here out of interest ;)

Out of interest, one thing I am introducing in Smart-Thinker.com is Trial downloads - so users can download and play before buying. I noticed Catalook has a trial version - will play around with it (I asked some questions on DNN-modules but they a little slow to respond).

Ah, here's a prime example...

Recently I requested an enhancement, the ability to display SKU instead of Name in all of the lists.  Portal Store just released the enhancement in an update today!  It also includes a sort option in the package view, to sort by SKU or by name.

Really incredible response to enhancement requests...

Ok - I have not had time to look at this in any more detail - but I have got a potential new requirement -

Which store would handle "reselling" better? For example, I may sell other developer's products on Smart-Thinker.com.

A further requirement might be that the sales are processed to their PP account directly (ie. I have no involvment in the sale at all - merely hosting the product detail and site. I appreicate the opinions.

To be honest I have found the developers of Portal Store not very responsive at all - I asked some questions when this thread started and have yet to hear back (second time).
