Am I missing something obvious?  I have created a module using Visual Studio 2005 and DotNetNuke 4.0.3.  I am now ready to deploy my module, but for the life of me I can not figure out how to compile the code into an Assembly.

Has anyone got any help on this.

Cheers

Andrew

The easiest way is to turn your project into a Class Library.

Or you could just package it with the source files and it'll be dynamically compiled on the server.

Thanks John

I have tried your idea, and am having "a lot" of problems, firstly I can not get my codebehind files to act as code behind.  I have modified the csproj file to try an correct this, but to no avail.
<Compile Include="NewsView.ascx.cs">
   <DependentUpon>NewsView.ascx</DependentUpon>
   <SubType>ASPXCodeBehind</SubType>
</Compile>

I am also having problems trying to get compile because of errors finding "~/controls/LabelControl.ascx" for example.

Would anyone have a blank c# or VB module project for DNN 4.0.3 or later, or if i could be pointed to a TUT so that I can try and understand how to accomplish this myself.

Many Thanks

Andrew.

Found this article (http://vladan.strigo.net/Default.aspx?tabid=76) , which describes how to build a Module,  Example creates a VB Module.
This has solved the issue that I was having.

Cheers

Andrew
