I am a new user of DNN. I think DNN is really powerful so I am very glad to introduce DNN to my friends.

After about 2 month experence with DNN, I found there are many problems about DNN and just need to focus on "Install"!!.

About these problems I think they can be found by install DNN "just once". I always use the DNN install pack to install DNN. I think this is also used by the most end user. I can't  even install the most stale version(4.0.3) by just download DNN installation pack and do all correct setting. I need to search forum to find the solution for how to install DNN. Not beacuse my setting is worng. Just because the install pack lost some data in it!! I need to go to other one's website to download some files for install. Actually I think this is sometime ridiculous because why a version can mark "stable" when nobody can install it!!

I met install problem again in 4.3.4. I am trying to find the solution now.(I really don't want the answer finally is just "Don't install DNN 4.3.4. Please install another version,... etc.") I really wish we can do just "a little" more testing before they release!! Just install it once or twice in a clean machine is enough.(All SQL Server can pre-setup. Just need to copy the DNN install pack to it folder and set right access permission.) Why we have to reject people who want to try DNN just by let him can't install DNN. Just need a little more testing before release. I think DNN can be much better !!

I've been playing with DNN since 4.0.x.  I've had no problems with installs.  I just installed 4.3.4 with no issues (XP Pro sp2, IIS 5) also using the install pack.

I would like to see an easier install, but if you follow the instructions it seems to install fine.  I have not had problems with missing files with any of the 4.x installs I've tried.  Have you separately installed 3rd party or non-core modules, and those are what are missing when you try a new install?  What exact problems are you having?

About the lost file issue in 4.0.3. I can find a discuss in the topic

http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/54333/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Is this a special case for some language platform? Because I am using Chinese Traditional platform. I try to install 4.0.3 in 3 PCs to test this issue. All got the lost file issue.

About the 4.3.4 install problem. It works after I re-install the ver 4.3.4. Maybe it fail by other reson of the PC.

If I lost something to set in the install process. Should it be fail on all version DNN install? Because I can install sucessful in some version. But others failed.
