I have frequently had reports from users that the menu has a bunch of junk characters in it.

the characters are always ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ

I had not been able to reproduce this myself until recently.

It appears this only happens occasionally, around the time it iniitally starts the application

Everything is fine and when i refresh the characters are not there but I have no Idea where they are coming from

Has anyone ever seen this, or fixed it?

I looked in google and other dnn sites have had the problem so any help would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks

Brett

What I have found is they come from   , and it happens when your browser retrieves a page from it's internal cache but doesn't switch the encoding to UTF-8.

If you set your browser to auto-select the encoding (under View>Encoding for IE) it helps.

I still have it happen every once in a while too though.

Is there anything you know of that would allow me to code around it?

Do you know if it the Menu that definatly causes this issue?

I can not really ask the users to change there settings.
