Heya,

Could somebody please help me with the rewrite syntax contained in SiteUrls.config?

I'm trying to change this:

http://domain.com/i/115

into something like this

http://domain.com/tabid/54/imageid/115/Default.aspx

Anybody have any idea on what I would change in the following?

        <RewriterRule>
            <LookFor>[^?]*/TabId/(\d+)(.*)</LookFor>
            <SendTo>~/Default.aspx?TabId=$1</SendTo>
        </RewriterRule>

Thanks!!

I'd be interested in some documentation, or a link to a blog or something like that, on this as well.

First, the Url Address has to have an extension on it that will be recognized by IIS as something that should be handed off to ASP.Net

If you make the Url something like http://domain.com/i/115/Image.aspx

Then the rewrite rule would be:

  <RewriterRule>
            <LookFor>[^?]*/i/(\d+)/.*</LookFor>
            <SendTo>~/Default.aspx?TabId=54&Imageid=$1</SendTo>
</RewriterRule>

Is there any way to not have the Image.aspx at all? The goal is to have a tiny URL so I was hoping ReWrite would allow me to match a unique string (http://domain.com/i/115) and cut all the .aspx and stuff.

Thanks JM - I got it to work but I had to define an application extension in IIS. Is there a way that you know that this could be accomplished withing an application extension? So instead of http://domain.com/115/image.aspx it would be http://domain.com/115 ?

Thanks all :)
