tighther integration with .NET2.0 get rid of all that code that returns *arraylist* and replace with a clean generic list,

I spent time earlier this week updating the Survey module. The next release will contains methods such as:

<DataObjectMethod(DataObjectMethodType.Select)> _
Public Shared Function GetSurveys(ByVal ModuleId As Integer) As List(Of SurveyInfo)
Return CBO.FillCollection(Of SurveyInfo)(DataProvider.Instance().GetSurveys(ModuleId))
End Function

Trust me, we want the same things you do and are working toward it daily.

The main issue is lack of management..      and the answer will be this is a volunteer project!!!  :)

Way back, in Gemini the new rule was all issues would be documented with what was researched and the actual fix...  so people that customized could put it in if need be.

Not to single anyone out...  just this is the latest I have looked at:

http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=3747

90% have no comments, no notes on code changed, etc...

This is not run like a real software project..  that is the biggest problem.

I wonder   (look out diatribe haters!!) ...

Which core team client wanted the Q and A login verification enhancement?

While..  simple usability goes untouched for a year...

Things I wonder about....

John Mitchell:
Have the core team members read this link from Scott Guthrie's Blog about WAP: http://west-wind.com/weblog/posts/5601.aspx

I have read Shaun's blogs about this, but I think you need to look again - It seems for me that Web Application Projects is the best alternative.

ArntK,

FYI: Charles blog goes through some of the module developer options and lays out the pros and cons well. Different approaches will work at different times for different clients e.g. I use app_code for most sites I write as I supply all source code to the client, and I use the class library approach for any code I intend to package and reuse or sell.
