Hello.
I am trying to simply read/write a custom property I had added through the new "Manage Profile Properties" module. I have seen no example in code as to how to read/write to a new custom property.

Does someone have a code example of this?
Thanks very much!

Harold

SET

dim objUser as UserInfo = UserController.GetUser(....

objUser.Profile.SetProfileProperty("CustomProp", "hello world")

UserController.UpdateUser(portalId, objUser)

GET

dim objUser as UserInfo = UserController.GetUser(....

dim helloWorld as String = objUser.Profile.GetPropertyValue("CustomProp")

i hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your reply!

It turns out after closer inspection, I was doing just that but I was logging in under the wrong account thus getting the wrong profile information! My mistake, thanks for your help!

Hello

Still having some problems with this. I am doing the following:

  UserInfo objUser = UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo();
  ProfileController.GetUserProfile(ref objUser);

  objUser.Profile.SetProfileProperty("ProjectID",ProjectGridView.SelectedDataKey.Value.ToString());
  objUser.Profile.SetProfileProperty("ProjectName",ProjectGridView.SelectedRow.Cells[1].Text);

  // Write data to profile!
  ProfileController.UpdateUserProfile(objUser);

What's wrong with this approach?

Thanks
Harold
