I have a situation where I want unauthenticated users or registered users to see one module and users with another role type, "member", to see another.

The issue is that a user could have registered to the site and THEN decided to become a member. So if I set it as you would think, when a member accesses the page, he will see both modules as he is a member and registered user.

I need to be able to limit access to the first module to unauthenticated or registered where registered is not member as well. How would I go about that?

There is a special role just for Unauthenticated users.  Assign that one to the module and people who are not signed in won't be able to see it.

Anyone who is registered on the site is a registered user, you won't want to remove them from that role. You'll want a seperate role called non-member, that everyone becomes when they register, but when they become a member they get moved out of the non-member role and into the member role.

I'm tracking with what you suggest, but the issue is that I don't want to manually move those and I'm assigning the role of membership via the Calalook Store. I don't think admin can move, only assign. Any suggestions apart from modifying code?
