I'm looking at new webhosting and wondered about the advanced plan and the amount of msql db's does it have 2005 sql express too or you have to choose between express and mssql?

I have recently bought the $9.99 package from WH4L and am happy with this. I only know of hthe MSSQL, don't think they offer express. However go to thier site and click on Contact Us at the bottom of the contact page and open a live chat with them. They will be able to give you an answer ther and then.

Hope this helps.

I did ask them, they didn't seem too confident on their answers and seemed confused.  I think they told me 2 mssql db's is that what you got?  They didn't seem to think they offered express either, but it is in their ads and on their site.  I just wondered if it was a choice of DB or if they were generous and gave you a express db along with sql.  I'm mostly concerned about the amount of DB's you are allowed.

Any other recommendations for .net and mssql hosting?

I logged into WH4L and I don't see an option for adding SQL Express ( I'm not sure it would require creating one since I could just upload the DB file) , but I have not opened a ticket asking this but they say they do in the $19.95 account on the comparision page. the 9.95 account allows you 2 MSSQL DB's ( doesn't matter whether they are 2000 or 2005. The $19.95 account allows 4. I don't understand why you would want Express when you cna have the full version fairly cheap. You can have as many as you want but each additional over the alloted costs extra ( I think $15 or $10 per year.) The same thing goes with domains out of the root. You can have as many domains as you want pointing to the root and you can have subdomains pointing to folders out of the root, but if you want multiple applications you have to pay extra for those.

WH4L is an okay host and they are fairly cheap, but they do load up servers which means performance is the luck of the draw. If you get on a fairly light server then you will get okay performance, but if its loaded up then performance will suffer. You can always ask to move to another platform if it gets slow, but that takes time and energy.

Loading up the servers is interesting.  I've got two accounts at WebHost4LIFE and am in the middle of creating DNN sites for each.

Using the MS SQL Server Management Studio Express (free download from MS), one can manage the DB's.

One was created with their free DOT NET plug in and it created the DNN (version 4.05.01) database on a SQL Server 2000 with 700 databases!

The other I'm creating (with problems, right now) I select SQL Server 2005 express and I see only my DB in that SQL instance.

I can't tell about what computers they are on...
