I am creating a site that is similar in concept to MySpace ... it will have pages of user driven content (image, name, address, interests, other keywords, etc.).  Each page will have a friendly URL like http://userpage.mypages.com so that people can give out the URLs to friends/associates.

However, I want site visitors to be able to come to the site and find people.  How can I build a directory of pages that has keywords/filters (like MySpace) without duplicating the data?

You could modify the DNN Search system to not use the PortalID thus allowing search across portal boundaries.  However you will have to restrict the results to page that are viewable by All Users as there is no way to include the persons Roles from one portal in the search results from other portals.
