I have a site and have 4.3.5 installed and am trying to put the module in where users can register on a page.  I would also like to change some of the registration settings.  I don't know if the whole module didn't load or what but I can't seem to find the right module.  I'm thinking it is the user account module.  Am I right?  Even when I'm logged in as host It has no dropdown arrow for any modifications to the left of the title.  I'm lost, am I using the right module?

Lost...

Under the Admin Menu choose User Accounts.  At the bottom is a link to "Manage Profile Properties".  In there you can customize your profile and set which fields are visible and/or required.  I have read others say to use caution if you are planning to remove/rename any of the original properties as some legacy modules or even present code may need to reference one of them.

Make sure you do not have any spaces in the name of any new properties you create as it will create javascript issues.  Instead edit the resx file(s) to create a proper display name and help text for your new properties.

When I do this it give me the manage profile for the admin user. There is no, At the bottom is a link to "Manage Profile Properties". The link at the top sends me the manage profile screen. I’m wanting the user to come to the page and if they don’t have an account let them register there and login to see the content.

You do not have to go inside any user's profile.  If you are using the default skin you should see the "Manage Profile Properties" link at the bottom of the Admin - User Accounts screen (there are 4 links there).

In the Admin menu "Site Settings" has a setting for registration type (under Advanced Settings - Security Settings).  If you choose one of the other options rather than "none" you should see a register link beside the login link when you are not logged in.  You don't need to do anything other than this to allow users to register on your site.
