I'm thinking about using DNN but I'm wondering if it's too modular for my needs. Please could someone tell me whether all DNN modules are 100% self-contained, i.e. unaware of any other modules, or can they (be made to) interact?

For example, if I had a module which enabled me to select a location from a list (say I was entering an address for something), could I show a link on that page which would take me directly to a Forum (i.e. another off-the-shelf module) about the selected location?

Would this be difficult to achieve, or is DNN designed to make this kind of thing easy?

DNN Modules as full-blown ASP.Net controls--you can do anything you'd like!  :-)  Look in the DNN documentation & online samples for "IMC," "Inter-Module Communication."
