Is it just me, or is the dotnetnuke.com a SLOW website? My web performance is otherwise quite good...is this indicative of all DNN installations?

I haven't noticed DNN.com running slowly as of late. Shaun Walker just gave a presentation this past weekend in Tulsa on the size of DNN.com, page views, and mentioned the hardware powering the site. One dedicated webserver and one dedicated SQL server.

Something like 8-10million page views a month if I recall correctly from the presentation.

I have not noticed anything slowing down on DNN.com lately either.

It's not just you.  My download speed is generally around 2.6MBps and most web pages are blazingly fast.  DNN, although I love it, is slower than molasses in the winter.  I have the same problem with the company that hosts my DNN website.  Don't let anyone tell you that DNN isn't slower than most.  If you're going to run it with any kind of speed you have to get on a dedicated machine.

I think is just you ;)

I just wanted to share my experience today as I surf with a new Dell PC I am configuring for my brother. This thing flies, and something that caught me really by surprise is that all, and I mean ALL, the web sites that I visit work a lot faster. I am comparing this performance with my other PC which is "only" 1.5 GHz and the disk and memory subsystems are not as fast. This includes www.dotnetnuke.com, it just flies, including the forums. One thing I must add is that I have a Comcast connection that is now consistently giving me over 8Mbps down and 750 up.

DNN just works great when properly configured.
