   I am just wondering if anyone would have any input as to why the code below works in a text/html module in Firefox but does not work in IE at all?

   Actually I did find the resolution to this issue.  It appears that DNN likes to strip out some of the html objects from the code by default and you have to manually re-enter them, which I had simply missed.  Firefox is forgiving, but IE was not and so it did not work in IE due to that striped code.  When I replaced it the file played without issues.
